 A report by The Children's Society's CNL Consultancy commissioned by Camden Play Pathfinder

Extract from the Evaluation of Year One Camden Play Pathfinder Sites, which uses one of Theories Landscapes previous play area as an example of good practice for a special needs school play area;

"In order to provide increased playability for disabled children then it is important to consider the provision of a variety of equipment and space that will appeal to a wide range of needs. Disabled CYP want to access swings, roundabouts, have open spaces to be alone, or enjoy the sensory experience of flowers, or open spaces where they can run, and play games. Messages from research highlight that areas that achieve this are inclusive.

For example the playground at Swiss Cottage special school Camden has areas to sit, sand play, an area to grow flowers and plants, mobiles, and wind chimes, along with large play equipment such as climbing frames and swings, and a running track. The area wasflat with soft surfacing. The space is an example of good practice in terms of accessibility for disabled CYP. "
